Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for lots of rain ā˜”ļø, not one break in the rain all day, and more to come overnight, luckily not as cold as earlier this week; for two Discovery Vitality Gameboard plays, giving me 360 Miles; for working in my warm bed this morning; for walking half my steps in the garage, as there was no break for a walk; for an adrenaline-charged day, communicating with Premier Alan Winde, the surprisingly efficient Accounts Department of Sandak-Lewin, and with Nu-Line lift company; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →

September has traditionally become Tourism Month, starting with Spring Day on 1 September. Coinciding with the start of Tourism Month is the reopening of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, as well as the Two Oceans Aquarium. A host of museums throughout the province have opened too.Ā  Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 50 of Level 3, 20 July 2020.

Monday 20 July 2020, Day 50 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for another beautiful day, but not as warm as yesterday; for an early wake-up, and a second snooze after having completed most of my writing; for a chat to a Camps Bay resident, who sought some advice of how we can assist families in our suburb that are struggling; for a good walk through Camps Bay and Bakoven done in one go; for catching up on my Food Delivery & Collection Group, having been very depressed about our poor Restaurant industry last week; for an amazing response time from Premier Alan Winde when I requested assistance for my Tourist Guide card and badge; for the fabulous news from Discovery Insure that they will cover the cost of the repair of the storm damage to my house in Hermanus, only having switched to the company two months ago šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘; for being happy and healthy. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Virus Lockdown: President Ramaphosa addresses nation, announces move in ā€˜most areas’ to Level 3 by the end of May 2020!

In an address to the nation, after a 19 day absence, President Cyril Ramaphosa thanked the nation for its role in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. He indicated that ā€˜most of the country’ is likely to move to Level 3 by the end of May. However, a regional approach may be implemented, which may mean that areas with higher infections and lesser health facilities may remain at Level 4, without mentioning which these would be. The President made a pledge to respect the rights of the people of our country, and that the Government will make amends in where it has disappointed the nation and made mistakes.

The response of the nation was one of great disappointment. Shakespeare’s ā€˜Much ado about nothing’ comes to mind. Repeated information was shared from his previous speeches, and no certainty was given as to when what will change. The Western Cape citizens are particularly angry, being certain that our province will remain at Level 4, even though this has not been confirmed. Much rests in the hands of our Premier Alan Winde, who has just gone into self-quarantine due to contact with a COVID-19 patient. He was due to have met with President Ramaphosa tomorrow (15 May 2020) Continue reading →
