Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the rain which fell on and off today, lapped up by the vegetable and flower garden, catching me unawares when I did a quick walk to Maison J to get croissants đŸ„, getting sopping wet but it was worth every drop in gifting Camps Bay with a beautiful rainbow 🌈 over Bali Bay; for Stuart Bailey coming to try to help me on his laptop with my Amazon job application; for the walk through the city centre, rediscovering it as a Tourist Guide, barely recognizing it, it being so quiet and so many business doors closed; for a indulgent Hot Chocolate at Honest Chocolate, nice and warm inside on this very cold 14C day; for collecting my tourist Guide card from the Western Cape Dept of Economic Affairs & Tourism on St George’s Mall, hardly recognizable without any stalls, looking like a European city pedestrian lane without any pedestrians đŸ˜±; for celebrating the two month battle of becoming officially registered as a Tourist Guide with an excellent lunch at Villa 47; for doing the Discovery Health Check at Clicks Glengariff Road đŸ˜±; for the assistance by Johan Prins and Bradley Moore to try to get the Amazon application completed; for getting into my warm bed already; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Tuesday 28 July, Day 58 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 đŸ˜·

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful sunny day, with a lovely sunset; for a very long 9,5 hour sleep in two bouts, Minsky being a good girl and not waking me up; for the joy of being reunited with five precious Russian silver champagne glasses which I thought I had lost, and had let go of them… until Henry and I found them when we tidied up my storeroom, finding a bottle of red wine too, sent by a PR company a year ago when I was traveling, and for finding two very large paintings with a marine theme, which are perfect to hang in my single spare room, adding a good blue touch to a very white room, the tidy-up bringing such joy ❀; a walk through Camps Bay and Bakoven, it sadly being very quiet in all the restaurants; for the indulgence of an electric blanket, warming me up in my bed; for having no stress or worries today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for such a special day, the highlight being to finally meet the very kind and generous Shuba in their lovely home in Camps Bay, the winner of the ADHARA extra virgin olive oil for her review of Masala CafĂ© in the Restaurant Food Delivery Group, and for being spoilt so in their home; for another beautiful 21 C day, with mist in the morning, and soft clouds in the day; for doing so well in coping with 7 weeks of Lockdown; for a good workout walk up to Fourth Beach in Exercise Time, earning 300 Discovery Vitality points after zero yesterday; for seeing a 50 year old birthday being celebrated on the Promenade, at the Thrones, with cake and all; for a lovely chat with Sherryl on the way home, she living close by, both of us living Solo and offering to look after each other when in need; for finishing my writing early today, having done most of it last night; for having a wonderful tan snooze on the terrace, not having slept much last night; for a good step count today, my highest since Lockdown; for a blood sugar reading of 5,1; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

First media interview about ‘SwitchBitch: My Journey of transformation from Sour to Sweet’!

Whilst writing The Book in Apricale, in Italy, in August, I treated myself to a cappuccino or a gelato at the Apricus Osteria & Bar in the village almost daily. On one of those days I asked a lady sitting at another table if she would mind taking a photograph of me, my selfie skills not being the best. Anna Fill did a great job of it, and gave me her card. I thanked her, and so began a chat about why I was in Apricale in the first place. Anna and I met for coffee, on a Monday when most restaurants were closed, so she drove us to the nearby Bajardo, where we chatted and I got to know more about Anna, and her ‘The Riviera Woman’ digital magazine. Recently she wrote to me, when she had seen on Facebook that I had completed my Book ‘SwitchBitch: My journey of transformation from Sour to Sweet’, and asked me a number of questions, for an article for her magazine.
