Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for keeping going with just more than 4 hours of sleep; for getting my work done in time for a quick Bakoven walk before heading to Sea Point; for a tea and chocolate cake treat at Bokeh Creative Studio, meeting twin sister Debra Peterson Gurney of Gary Peterson šŸ™; for three meetings in a row at the newkings boutique hotel, Zest Restaurant starting to take shape, with plants and furniture arriving today, the restaurant likely to open next week; for capturing a beautiful sunset from the restaurant terrace, imagining what it will be like to enjoy sundowners and meals outside; for an inexpensive car wash in the Piazza da Luz and shopping at the Woolies there; for a quick walk Continue reading →

ā€˜Around my Table’ by Denise Cowburn-Levy a mouthwatering Food Travel Book to Cape Town, the West Coast, Greece, Italy, and Thailand!

At the launch of the first book by Denise Cowburn-Levy at Bokeh Creative Space in Sea Point last night, I was lucky to win a copy of her book ā€˜Around my Table’, for knowing the answer to a question relating to Chef Liam Tomlin, described by Denise as her mentor. Ā The 260 page book is part memoir, part travel book to the West Coast, Greece, Italy, and Thailand, and part recipe book, with food associations with each region and country of her travels, including those of Cape Town. Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for sun, sun, sun, after a misty morning, with a slight chill in the 17C day; for a late sleep in, having written today’s Blogpost last night; for a walk in Camps Bay, making a leg waxing appointment for tomorrow, shopping at Woolies, and collecting discount vouchers from Tindlovu; for learning more about the cost of electricity in our apartment block, after the Power Audit was done; for having the patience in filling in more forms to be registered with CATHSSETA as a Tourist Guide, a challenging career when it comes to all the governmental paperwork prescriptions; for dropping off the forms at the lecturer’s house in Rondebosch, combining it with a number of other stops in the city, including buying my first alcohol in almost six months of Lockdown, having run out of Jameson; for more fantastic service from PnP Clothing in The Point in Sea Point; for a slice of carrot cake and tea and company from the lovely staff member at Bokeh Creative Space, looking forward to dancing there soon Adrian Lazarus; for popping in at Oxalis Eatery to drop off a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin olive oil, with four female owners of the restaurant, which opened in late August; for a half an hour stop at Pilcrow & Cleaver, having a glass of Valley Pinot Noir and a Scallop Ceviche with Orange segments, pine nuts and sultanas, oh wow…; for ending off the day with a first visit to the home of Stuart Bailey, loving my Jameson 🄃; for a Discovery Insure Fuel Cashback; and for being happy and healthy. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for a warmer day, but not feeling like the forecast 23C; for a beautiful sunset combined with clouds, making for great photographs; for sleeping off all the horridness of yesterday afternoon, feeling energized and calm and peaceful today; for lunch with Henry at Firefly CafĆ©, which served food for the first time today; for a lovely trip to Regent Road in Sea Point, buying another pair of shorts at PnP Clothing and ordering more; for the surprise discovery of Bokeh Creative Space, a hairdresser/coffee bar opened on Regent Road by Adrian Lazarus last week, he recognizing me as a Facebook Friend (we had never met) and inviting me inside; for buying little treats at Spar and Woolies, the latter enlarged, having added the space of the former Tops; for a gift of five bespoke Kalahari Salts, delivered by Mark McCarthy from Iconic Brands; for another walk to Camps Bay, loving the sunset at the Tidal Pool and a long chat with Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay; for dancing to Kfm šŸ’ƒ; for hearing from my Camps Bay Clean helper Joel, not having done so in a month, coming back to work tomorrow; and for being happy and healthy. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →
