Thursday 27 May 2021, Day 88 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Gratitude for an organized day; for surviving on only 4 hours of sleep, feeling energized because it was so busy; for a walk up the 100 Houghton Steps and down Houghton Road; for a wonderful afternoon, doing a quick shop at the German shop and then at Hartlief, for fetching my rolls at Dinkel and buying mustard at the upstairs German shop, for a short and sweet Status meeting at Utopia, and photographing the range of Chardonnays it stocks, for International Chardonnay Day Continue reading →

Labotessa Café a Dutch-inspired secret in a 5-star luxury boutique hotel on Church Square!

It was by chance that I discovered Labotessa Café in the Labotessa Boutique Hotel on Church Square in Parliament Street in Cape Town two weeks ago. It is part of the Labotessa Hotel, in a beautifully renovated five story building reminiscent of Amsterdam from its exterior, exuding beauty and style.

Top chefs are opening new restaurants, including Chefs Peter Tempelhoff, Cheyne Morrisby, and Liam Tomlin. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another warm day, at 27C, and no wind, with rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning, fog rolling in now; for surviving the day with very little sleep; for getting my work done this morning, and still having enough time to go for a Camps Bay walk, it being very quiet, and The 41 being the first restaurant closing in Camps Bay, until 15 February; for collecting poppy seed rolls at Dinkel Bakery, which Cain kindly kept for me; for the best service ever at the Civic Centre to get my new car registration disc, I being the only person there, it taking no more than 5 minutes 💙; for a good client Status meeting; for popping in at Pilcrow & Cleaver, buying a wild mushroom Ragu dish to take home and some items from Fideli’s, bumping into Katie & Jonny Friedman there; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
