Saturday 26 September 2020, Day 6 of Level 1, Day 184 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a weather transformation from rain and cold this morning to sunny and warmer this afternoon, accompanied by a mood lift; for a later lie-in, until I had to leave for Sea Point, with a number of chores and treats; for a Vit D dose and doze on my terrace; for a refreshing late afternoon walk in Camps Bay, sounding like one continuous Disco from the Hard Rock Café down to Mynt, with Tiger’s Milk the busiest of them all; for dancing to the Kfm Blok Party; for seeing so many 💙 clouds today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 18 September 2020, Day 32 of Level 2, Day 176 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous day, my horoscope about financial abundance for today being spot on, having the confirmation of my house sale money being paid into the Trust Account and receiving news of another windfall 🙏🙏🙏; for a mild day with the slightest drizzle at times; for a morning walk to Camps Bay, having tea with Emma Farquharson at The 41 to discuss tomorrow’s Beach Clean; for having another pot of Dilmah tea with a delish croissant 🥐 at Firefly Café as the waxing next door ran a little late; for a delightful leg wax with Angelique, done with love and care, not hurting at all; for a trip to Sea Point to exchange black slacks at PnP Clothing, and a top up of my Smarties stock, unbelievable how the price of sweets and chocolates is increasing month by month; for the purchase of cat food and treats at Absolute Pets, so that the cats can share in my good luck too; for a meeting with Rick Jackson and Tracy Jackson to discuss tomorrow’s Beach Clean Up; for spoiling myself to a very light supper at Tindlovu; and for being very happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 17 September 2020, Day 31 of Level 2, Day 175 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for sun, sun, sun, after a misty morning, with a slight chill in the 17C day; for a late sleep in, having written today’s Blogpost last night; for a walk in Camps Bay, making a leg waxing appointment for tomorrow, shopping at Woolies, and collecting discount vouchers from Tindlovu; for learning more about the cost of electricity in our apartment block, after the Power Audit was done; for having the patience in filling in more forms to be registered with CATHSSETA as a Tourist Guide, a challenging career when it comes to all the governmental paperwork prescriptions; for dropping off the forms at the lecturer’s house in Rondebosch, combining it with a number of other stops in the city, including buying my first alcohol in almost six months of Lockdown, having run out of Jameson; for more fantastic service from PnP Clothing in The Point in Sea Point; for a slice of carrot cake and tea and company from the lovely staff member at Bokeh Creative Space, looking forward to dancing there soon Adrian Lazarus; for popping in at Oxalis Eatery to drop off a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin olive oil, with four female owners of the restaurant, which opened in late August; for a half an hour stop at Pilcrow & Cleaver, having a glass of Valley Pinot Noir and a Scallop Ceviche with Orange segments, pine nuts and sultanas, oh wow…; for ending off the day with a first visit to the home of Stuart Bailey, loving my Jameson 🥃; for a Discovery Insure Fuel Cashback; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Saturday 29 August 2020, Day 12 of Level 2, 156th Day of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for all the rain that fell throughout the night, especially the cloudburst at around midnight, and this morning; for keeping warm despite our coldest day this year; for making a good plan in spending a day off; for buying Quark at Dinkel Bakery, another Mutti memory; going back to The Labia for the first time in five months, feeling very safe with their adherence to Covid regulations and seat spacing, and loving seeing the entrance interior, with a few things moved around, and of course not jam-packed with moviegoers, being able to see the beautiful design of the Ticket Office and Snack Bar; for being able to return an item at Sportsman’s Warehouse at The Point Mall in Sea Point ; for having two Discovery vouchers with which I could buy Raw Nuts at DisChem; for finding a new pair of walking shorts at PnP Clothing, not my normal haunt 😱; for finding Chef Chen Sushi Bar, his new outlet having opened four weeks ago on the third floor of The Point, delicious….. ; for fleetingly seeing Rose Klein and her Werner on the escalators in opposite directions; for a quick drop in at Woolies and Pick n Pay Camps Bay; for a refreshing Bakoven walk; for no Loadshedding despite this icy weather; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
