Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a very organized day, starting very early, writing my Blogpost, and preparing Status Reports for all my clients for the rest of the week; for fitting in a quick Bakoven round; for the City of Cape Town removing the builders rubble x 2 which I reported to them yesterday; for buying balloons at RockaRolla in Sea Point, close to Piazza da Luz, for the birthday of my newkings boutique hotel GM client Martine Wood, and enjoying the delicious chocolate birthday cake which the Zest Pastry Chef Melissa had baked for her with tea and coffee, shared with the hotel owner Romao da Luz and his partner Landy Walker, leaving us only a short time to discuss newkings boutique hotel Communications, followed by my Zest meeting; for buying Gift Vouchers from Sportsman’s Warehouse for the McWilliam brothers who helped me keep Camps Bay clean, sponsored by the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association; for popping in at Discovery in Sea Point, the first time that I’ve seen the door open to clients since the start of Lockdown; for a threatening looking sky in Sea Point, looking like rain to come; for smelling the lovely smell of the first raindrops on my terrace, going outside and there was the most amazing rainbow 🌈, short lived when it started raining for a short while; for a chat with my Alex von Ulmenstein, still isolating ❤️; and with Nicholas Fjord; for two Discovery Gameboard plays; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost was about the 4th season of MasterChef starting in February. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

MasterChef SA to make a 4th Season comeback after a six year absence!

One has to be so careful shopping: at the Woolies I went to after my meetings I was charged R18 for 2 bananas. I know my banana prices and so I knew there was an error. The cashier had put the roll of barrier bags on the scale with the bananas 😱. The cheese slices were on a special but this did not show on the till and my slip, so that had to be fixed too. So grateful to Manager Gary for getting both errors fixed.🙏

I popped in at the new The Greek Fisherman, but there was no staff in sight at 17h00 despite other diners being seated. When I found a waiter he said that no food is served until 17h30 despite the sign outside saying that they are open from 12h00 – 22h00! The Manager said the same, not interested! A brand new restaurant in Sea Point : oi vey. 😡

Restaurants I am associated with are looking for hosts/hostesses (includes evenings) and a Breakfast Chef. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

So relieved that the 15th of December madness of getting last minute things done was not present today 👏👏👏👏👏.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
