Thursday 29 April 2021, Day 60 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the unexpected rain overnight, bringing autumn/winter weather, with only 17C today, a chilly bite in the wind; for a productive writing morning, preparing for my client meeting; for a power walk at midday, taking my secret uphill Bakoven route, earning 300 Discovery points, and ending with a shopping stop at Woolies and paying the rates & taxes at Pick n Pay; for my weekly dose of Dinkel rolls waiting for me; for a good meeting at Utopia, celebrating my six month anniversary of working on the brand with a Kir Royale, Continue reading →

International Travel for South Africans still extremely limited due to ‘South African’ Virus mutation!

The ‘South African’ Virus mutation is keeping most South Africans from travelling overseas, with only a handful of countries allowing South Africans to enter their countries, unless they are citizens of the country they wish to travel to.

Only seven countries allow relatively easy access to our country’s residents without quarantine prescriptions, reports BusinessTech, without naming the countries.

Monday 5 April 2021, Family Day, Day 36 of Level 1. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a peaceful day; it being a little cooler, and with an extremely strong South Easter blowing this afternoon, dissuading picnickers from coming to Camps Bay today, hence barely any litter; for a lovely lunch with Tania Harrison at Lily’s, both of us having similar histories, driving the same car, and growing up in neighbouring towns, #thankyou 🌹; for being able to fetch my laundry in Sea Point even though they were technically closed; for a power walk on my secret Bakoven path, sadly with lots of litter at its start, and giving me some protection against the wind, earning 300 Discovery points; for feeling warmed up on my return, the wind feeling chilly when I started walking; for Utopia receiving two excellent reviews on the Cape Town Restaurants: The Good; Bad & Nasty Facebook Group in the past two days; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Wednesday 11 November 2020, Day 52 of Level 1, Day 230 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a warm 26C day, windstill, with another such day forecast for tomorrow; for a writing morning, followed by a deep clean of my apartment, getting up to 5000 steps before I left for a proper walk in Camps Bay, including a shop at Woolies, needing croissants for my guests this afternoon; for getting help from gorgeous Llewellyn to become the admin of the client’s Facebook page 🍎; for the surprise of receiving two Discovery Gameboard plays, despite not having received any points since I hit Diamond status about 10 days ago; for an easy transition from Discovery Coastal Core to Classic Smart, costing only R19 more per month and heaps more medical and dental benefits, Maki Chase holding my hand virtually 🙏; for a R164 Discovery Insure cash back for driving less; for the honour of being interviewed by THE 6 foot 6 inches Derek Watts today, in my home, more details to come when it is aired; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
