Wednesday 17 June 2020, Day 17 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, in the mid-20C, sunny, warm, and a joy to be outside; for a walk in Camps Bay, popping in at Absolute Pets to say hello to Bubeka and sharing the Minsky cat escapades 🐱 with her, and buying a replacement alarm battery from Camps Bay Hardware, Jared always offering extra special service and resident prices; for a long Vit D dose on the terrace; for bumping into Linda Ransome and #eyecandy on my walk; for a second walk to Bakoven later this afternoon; for the nice photos which Danish Marlena sent me today, edited versions of those she took yesterday; for a Gameboard play on Discovery Vitality today; for darling Minsky coming back inside when I let her out this afternoon without giving me another heart attack as she did last night 🐱; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙

This morning I wrote about Dark Kitchens, a new restaurant trend, which started off in the USA, and has been operating in Cape Town too. The Slick Restaurant Group Dark Kitchen in New Church Street is the latest Dark Kitchen in our city.

‘Dark Kitchen’ Restaurant trend grows, enhanced by Corona Lockdown, operating in Cape Town too!

I wrote a profile of Chef Judi Fourie and her Pilcrow & Cleaver Restaurant in Parliament Street on the Food Delivery & Collection Facebook Group today. It offers excellent value for money, and super friendly service.

Two Restaurant members of the Food Delivery Group were annoyed with me today, for rejecting their posts in not including the delivery areas, a rule of our Group……. and were downright rude. They are lucky to still be members of the Group. An art vendor shouted at me on the walk, accusing me of stealing his biscuits on the lawn 😱. If I see litter, I throw it into the bin. A motorcyclist came to my defence, giving the vendor a mouthful, telling him to respect ’the lady’. 🙏💙

Holding thumbs that the speech by President Ramaphosa will be a good one at 20h00. Hallelujah : Restaurants, Theatres, cinemas, Hairdressers, Beauty salons, casinos, and more are to reopen. No date, no regulations announced however.

President Ramaphosa announces Restaurants to reopen for Sit-Down Service, looks after women by allowing Personal Care industry to reopen and lambasts men for gender-based violence, non-contact sports allowed!

SA Corona Status: 80412 cases 1624 deaths 😷😢

Apple Health : 10000 steps 7 km 👣

Lovemylife ❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
